Why Choose Us
Moving and Grooving pediatric physical therapy (M&G) provides skilled physical therapy services in your home, pool or community park. Scheduling is flexible and includes before, during and after work hours.
Pediatric physical therapy is an excellent tool to utilize for your child’s development. We provide interventions such as parent education, stretches, exercises, positioning, massage, as well as incorporating toys and equipment to enhance your child’s overall development.
In addition to offering physical therapy for your child, we partner with a women’s health physical therapist, Dr. Heather Gibson. This is most helpful for expecting mothers or mothers who just gave birth to promote comfort, strength, and knowledge of what to do to keep your body in the shape it needs to be in order to prepare for and adjust to baby!
Does my Child Need Physical Therapy?
Does That Mean Something is Wrong?
Your child may benefit from physical therapy for a variety of reasons, including, but not limited to the following:
-Show a strong left or right side preference prior to 1 year of age
-Demonstrate tightness/ weakness/ high or low muscle tone
-Torticollis and/or plagiocephaly
-Poor head control
-Get “stuck” in certain developmental positions
-Intolerance of tummy time
-Walk on tiptoes
See the Difference
During our physical therapy sessions, we focus on how to incorporate basic positions/stretches/exercises into daily routines. We are always focused on the comfort and enjoyment of the child and the caregiver, incorporating play throughout the session. We encourage the primary caregiver(s) to be present for the ongoing sessions in order to have improved understanding and follow through to progress your child at the appropriate pace. If hours of availability do not line up for all of the caregivers, virtual sessions and written summaries are also available.
We are reachable for concerns prior to the next appointment via phone or email, and utilize pictures and videos to demonstrate these techniques. Sessions can be rescheduled or scheduled sooner with at least 24 hours notice.
